Wandering around Toronto you will find a wide assortment of food from all over the world. There are not many large scale restaurants, more so hole in the wall places mixed with sports bars. I ate as much food as I could while in Toronto, because it was all so delicious!
If you are heading up to Toronto these are some great options that I absolutely loved!
I did not include Tim Hortons on this list because it is an extremely common and represented place, compared to the others that I would like to discuss, which are smaller and more localized places. I did however love Tim Hortons!
1. Korea Town

For the first one, I am not focusing on one particular restaurant but an entire area within the city. There are a ton of restaurants in the couple blocks that are considered a part of Korea Town.
We ate in one of the many options, sadly I don't remember the specific name of this restaurant. But, either way it was delicious! I had not had good Korean food since coming home from study abroad. So I was particularly excited when my friend (Beth) I was traveling with, agreed to try it for the first time!
I had 냉면 (Naengmyeon) which is a cold noodle soup, and Beth had 불고기 (Bulgogi) which is marinated beef. She is not a fan of Spicy food, so we decided it was best for her to stick with something like Bulgogi.

Be careful of where you eat if you have issues with spicy food or seafood, those are both very common within Korean food.
2. 7 West Cafe

This cafe was a small hole in the wall place, with dark lighting and a cool vibe. While it is a Cafe that that has desserts and coffee, it is also an Italian eatery. We were on the hunt for Italian food, after having spent time in the museum district and thankfully came across this place!
The food was excellent, both my dish and Beth's. We both got pasta but she got a tomato based pasta where mine was an alfredo based one. The free bread was some of the best I have ever had, it however was not served before the meal, but was served on the side when you received your entree.

I will say that if you are in a hurry and just trying to grab a bite this is probably not the place for you as it was pretty hard to get the waitstaff's attention.
Even though the service was questionable the food made up for it and more!
3. The Federal
Continuing on with small hole in the wall places, if you are not really looking for this place there is a chance you will walk right on by. However if you are going at brunch like us, just look for the restaurant with the crowd outside trying to get in!

This is a small and extremely popular place, which means tight fit and long waiting!
The food however was some of the best brunch I have ever had, and the elder-flower Bellini that I had was to die for! If you end up at the Federal I highly suggest the Bellinis over the Mimosas, while the Mimosas are fine, the Bellini was something different that I have never had before while a mimosa is served basically everywhere.
4. The Burgernator

This place was in the center of Kensington Market (A must go place if your visiting Toronto), so it is pretty hard to miss!
As you can probably tell by their name, they are known for their unique and homemade burgers. Everything was paired really well together for a whole new type of burger than I have ever had.
Both Beth and I got the ' Atomic Burger' which was an "All Beef Patty, Deep-Fried Herb Crusted Cheese, Tomato, Lettuce, W/ A Sun-Dried Tomato Aioli.

There are more unique burgers that I have not seen as options anywhere else. They are putting a unique twist on a classic favorite.
I hope these quick insights into local Toronto restaurants help in deciding just what to eat next on your travels in Toronto!
We of course at numerous other restaurants but these were the 4 that stood out to me and created an unforgettable dining experience that had everything to do with how good the food tasted!
