As the weather warms up I am getting back into going out and exploring this beautiful country that I live in!

I will be completely honest, this past winter I did not go out much at all. My seasonal depression was really bad this past winter. I barely left my apartment unless I was at work.

Now though the weather is warming up and I am getting back out there to start creating more memories and having new adventures.

Last weekend we decided to have a creative day out in Seoul.

My friends and I took the bus into the city and started the day by walking through MyeonngDong on our way to HiKRGround, which is an interactive exhibit for the Korean Tourism Group. We did some shopping as we made our way there. I got the cutest earrings and some almonds to send back home to my family! They are something that I send back for Allen most times I send a box!

HiKRGround has a number of different things you can check out! So we hit the ground running once we got there!

We started with the K-pop floor, which involved a few different photo rooms, which were decorated like different scenes from music videos or shoots, you can change the lighting and play different music. It was such a fun experience running around, taking photos, and dancing around stupidly! Moving to the next floor the building has 2 different exhibits. The first is a look at K-dramas and their success globally and how that has spread Korean culture, while the second is an art exhibit. This particular art display was moving art. Like those old cards that change images if you move them around!

Before moving to the last area, we headed up to the cafe to grab a snack. It was one of the most delicious pastries that I have had. The blueberry cream was thick and delicious. The last area is to look at the natural beauty of Korea and medical services within the country. It was a beautiful and peaceful area which was also helpful to foreigners in finding medical services within Korea.

On our way to Insadong, we stopped at a large bookstore in the area, known for its large English book section. It is a Kyobo Books near Cheonggyecheon. It was lovely to be able to look through a large selection of books. I picked up three different books that have been on my list for a while and had not found them here!

Finally making it to Insadong, we spent our time in Ssamzie-gil which is this interesting open-concept mall, which has a spiral ramp going to the top. There are so many different shops and DIY experiences to have in this area. We headed that way to check out this bag shop where you created your own tote bag. We found it on Tiktok when searching for new things to do her! You get to pick out your different patches and then the staff irons them on for you! It was such a fun DIY project. I found a number of different projects that I want to try in the future, such as painting pottery, candle making, and even glass etching.

After getting our new bags back from the shop we got the subway into Hongdae to check out this burger restaurant and get our caricatures drawn.

The burger place is called Zesty Saloon and it was the cutest space-themed burger place, that was priced well and tasted very fresh! Will definitely be going back to try their other burgers! Once we were fed and feeling better we took a quick walk to the caricature place called Acorn Caricature, it was the cutest woodland vibe. We only had to wait a few minutes as they had about 5 different artists working at one time. I chose the cheapest version which is just a paper one, however, you can get it done on a canvas as well!

At this point, each of us was exhausted and it was time to head out and make our way back home. We are about an hour and a half outside of the city so we wanted to get home at a decent time!

It was a much needed day out to try new things, get out of the house and laugh with friends!
