This year I want to be cognizant of what I am bringing into my life

I am in no way a minimalist, I am basically the opposite. I have so many Knick knacks and different things that hold memories.
This and my love of impulse shopping has not helped with my ever growing amount of stuff. I want to clear it out and really know and use what I have in my stock.
Other than using what I already have, I have two other reasons to be doing this. One, I am trying to really work on my budget and cut extra spending on things I do not need. Two, some of the things I want to stop using are wasteful things that are not good for our environment.
While these seem like easy things to change, I was still nervous and wanted to do some simple research on how to make these lifestyle changes. So I like everyone my age made my way to YouTube. One thing that caught my eye was the "Low Buy, No Buy" trend. This trend is very popular among minimalists and those who are trying to live a more sustainable life, both of which I'm trying to do.
So going into the new year I made a list of no buys for the year of 2021. Things that I either don't want to buy because I just don't need to keep wasting money on them or so that I can stop using as much plastic and such. My personal list does not contain kitchen or household items as I am currently living at home with my parents and they purchase those Items.
For my list it is what I spend my own personal money on.
My 2021 No Buy List:
No new makeup - except refills on daily products.
Candles
New Trial products - basically skin or hair care that I do not already use and need a refill for
Make-up wipes
Coffee mugs
Jewelry
Journals
Body Sprays, Lotions, and Perfumes
New Clothes (Until weight loss)
Shoes
Any new subscription services
Cotton Pads
Impulse buys
Some of these will be harder than others to stick with but I am hoping that having this list and goal will help keep me on track to succeed at not buying these items. If you are trying to find a way to help you lessen your spending this is a great place to start. Look at your surroundings and really see what you have and what you truly do not need any more of and instead of just leaving it at that, sit down and create this list for you to see a visual representation of what you are trying to accomplish!!
I hope this encourages you to create a 'No Buy' list of your own and to really look at what you are buying to much of or can cut out of your budget!
